3-Hour Hands-On Class
Feel confident caring for baby from the very beginning.
From those first diaper changes to knowing how to respond in an emergency, this 3-hour, hands-on class helps expecting and new parents, grandparents, relatives, friends, nannies, and other trusted caregivers feel confident and prepared for life with a newborn.
Led by a Palmetto Baby Care nurse, you'll learn essential newborn care skills, practice hands-on techniques, ask questions, and gain the knowledge to care for baby and respond with confidence when it matters most.
What You’ll Learn
Newborn Care
Learn what to expect during baby's first weeks, including diapering, bathing, umbilical cord care, and everyday newborn care.
Safe Sleep
Learn safe sleep practices and how to create a safe sleep environment for baby.
Feeding & Newborn Cues
Explore feeding basics, hunger and fullness cues, soothing techniques, and ways to better understand baby's cues.
Infant CPR & Choking Response
Practice infant CPR and learn how to recognize and respond if baby is choking.
Infant First Aid
Learn basic infant first aid, what to watch for, and when to seek medical care.
Hands-On Practice
Put what you've learned into practice with hands-on instruction and plenty of time to ask questions.
Register for a group class and prepare together!
Bring your partner, a grandparent, aunt, uncle, close friend, nanny, or another person who will be part of baby’s care so you can learn and prepare together.
Group classes are offered one Tuesday and one Saturday each month.
Price of Class: $200 (Each registration includes one expecting or new parent plus one support person).
